The Career Stimulus Package

I have mix emotions about developer certifications. I took (and passed) the test for the MCAT and MCTS certifications and can tell you that I did not become a better developer by doing so. So why did I do it? Well because anything that can give me an edge in the job market is something I would consider.

I have interviewed many developers in the past and I never hired a developer only for his or her certifications. However, given to identically qualified developers I would select the one with the certification. Why, because it tells me they did everything they could to differentiate themselves. They when all out to have the better “product”.

So with the current state of the economy, I think it is important to differentiate yourself from the rest of the pack. What a better way to do so than with the Career Assist program? Check it out today!

There are some people, myself included, who disliked seeing the certifications. Just because there are many people out there that hide behind them.

Whenever I look at a resume, I look and see how cool the applicant's projects have been.

If someone ventured to put Certs ahead of his/her projects, I would usually store their resume in my recycle bin folder.
